Outstanding performance in a compact size, this is the target of Mille Pro car audio subwoofers. On the strength of its know-how acquired with Mille Legend, the R&D team has optimized the production process to offer the “Hertz Sound Experience” to a wider audience using part of the technologies and materials of the flagship line. The MP 300 D2.3 cone is made by pressing paper pulp with the injection of mineral powders, the same construction technique used for Legend. The V-cone® profile increases rigidity, allowing the cone to function like a piston. Surround materials consist of high-purity IIR-butyl rubber. Like the Legend ML2000.3 and ML2500.3, the Mille PRO subwoofers are built with Boundary Free Surround technology allowing for a greater emission surface with equal diameter, generating higher sound pressure. The compact 6-spoke aluminum alloy anti-resonant basket is the same as the top model ML 2500.3 and contributes to the subwoofer’s mechanical damping, being absolutely transparent to the sound. The 65-mm 4-layer voice coil is higher than 60 mm and wound in a TIL-P former, thus delivering high linear displacement. The 2 Ω + 2 Ω DVC impedance configuration improves versatility to match any amplifier system. The air cooling and decompression system avoids the need for a centre hole on the bottom plate with three advantages:
- Better thermal inertia to ensure low operating temperatures during musical transients;
- Maximization of the magnetic field induced to the coil with the same overall motor dimensions. Thanks to a greater amount of iron in the pole the likelihood of magnetic saturation decreases exploiting the maximum flux density generated from the magnet;
- Possibility to install the subwoofer right on the box wall, taking full advantage of its minimal dimensions. A damping rubber disk, provided with the product, secures the subwoofer to the box and ensures air exchange for the 10 vents on the bottom.
The holes behind the voice coil winding and the 10 vents on the bottom plate ensure greater air exchange to the coil inner layers and work in synergy with an innovative assembly system. It forces the air to pass through the air gap to keep the coil operating temperature low, even with the most extreme musical programs. The terminal uses solid push connectors with an antishort circuit cover accepting cables up to 8 AWG to provide ultra-low wiring resistance in low impedance configurations (1ohm).

The three way MPK 163.3 car audio speakers system is dedicated to those who want the best: the MP 70.3 midrange featuring Neodymium double magnet inside the coil produces an enthralling mid range, perfect to combine with the powerful mid-low of the MP 165.3 woofer as well as with the detailed high range of the MP25.3 tweeter. The 20 mm coil of the MP 70.3 maximizes the dynamics; the V-cone® profile enhances off-axis dispersion and the Boundary Free Surround allows for a wider extension towards the low frequency range. The dedicated MPCX 3.3 crossover provides optimized crossover points to exploit the midrange remarkable extension using ultra-selected components.
The MPK 1650.3 car audio speakers system is the top of the range two waysystem of the Mille PRO line. The system uses the 28 mm diameter MP 28.3tweeter inheriting all the technological features of the Mille Legend ML28.3. The geometry of the Tetolon dome maximizes the typical dispersion of off-axis listening. The rear acoustic chamber with damping material contributes to extend response to lower frequencies achieving a resonance frequency of only 900 Hz. In this way the crossover point between tweeter and woofer can be lowered, improving the sound image in the car dashboard. The massive Neodymium motor minimizes nonlinearity managing the music program with very dynamic transients. The CCAW (Copper Clad Aluminium Wire) voice coil guarantees an especially light weight and stiff moving assembly. These technological elements interact with each other, resulting in a high frequency extension of 28 kHz, a record for a tweeter featuring a 28 mm voice coil. An elegant and compact angled tweeter support is provided with the system: this allows easy installation both on the A-pillars and on the car dashboard. The correct angle of the tweeter improves the stereo image, essential for an engaging listening.
The MP 165P.3 woofer electroacoustic parameters have been forged to give it the pure and solid sound of an authentic mid-bass, designed for high dynamic systems. The voice coil with a generous 14 mm height, has a nominal 3 Ω impedance in addition to an increased power handling. These features provide the ability to maximally exploit the power of the Hertz HCP and HDP amplifiers as well as all the 2 Ω stable electronics. The ferrite 95 mm diameter magnet enables a +/-4.5 mm voice coil linear excursion, ensuring utmost control at all times. The Boundary Free Surround moves a bigger amount of air, and the V-cone® profile improves the offaxis dispersion, the real in-car listening condition. The sophisticatedaluminium alloy basket neutralizes the undesired vibrations.
The crossover MPCX 165.3 creates the optimal tone balance between the MP 28.3 tweeter and MP 165P.3 woofer. It features bi-metallic capacitors with polyester dielectric, for maximum acoustic transparency and air wound inductors built on pure copper wire with up to 1mm diameter eliminating saturation. It also mounts wire-wound type resistors with low parasite inductance. The two positions Hi-Contour control provides the ability to fine tune the system frequency response optimizing it according to the different speakers positions. Most of all, the listeners can achieve their favourite sound thanks to the three-position control for the tweeter emission level with 2 dB steps (+2/0/-2dB) attenuation.
The MPK 165P.3 car audio speakers system energy in the mid-low range ensures a unique listening experience, creating the ideal set up alongside a powerful subwoofer section. The MP 165P.3 wooferelectroacoustic parameters have been forged to give it the pure and solid sound of an authentic mid-bass, designed for high dynamic systems. The MPK 165P.3 timbre balance is entrusted to the MPCX 2P.3 crossoverfeaturing a copper inductor with a 1 mm diameter wire to filter the MP 165P.3, which, with its nominal 3 Ω requires high impulse currents. The tweeter MP 25.3 12dB/Octave crossover is built with extremely high quality 160V bi-metallized polyester film capacitor and an air coil inductor. The tweeter (MP 25.3) level control (0/+2.5dB) provides the ability to adapt the system response to the listener preferences and considering the components installation position.
The MPK 165.3 car audio speakers system has been designed to ensure a wide low frequency response, even in cars with no space for a subwoofer. Thanks to the V-cone® and Boundary Free Surround technologies the MP 165.3 woofer boast outstanding dispersion features and generates high SPL with compact dimensions. The dedicated crossover MPCX 2.3 has been designed to exploit the wide extension of the MP 165.3 woofers , ensuring a natural transition towards the MP 25.3 tweeter, for maximum natural acoustic emission. The 1mm low parasitic resistance copper filter coil of the woofer maximizes its efficiency. The MPCX 2.3 crossover features tweeter level (0/+2 dB) to calibrate the MP 25.3 acoustic emission level comparing it to the woofer one.
The Hertz MLK 1650.3 Legend car audio speakers system is a two way kit dedicated to purists , aiming at achieving maximum timbre consistency combined with very high dynamics and extremely extended frequency response. Through a solidly built switch, the MLCX 2 TW.3 crossover provides the ability to realize a bi-amplified system, that is, to connect two amplifiers, or anyway two separate channels, to the crossover, so making it possible to drive woofer and tweeter separately. The significant power increase with this configuration highlights all the features of the MLK 1650.3 Legend system, with all the advantages coming from the multi-amplification. Besides, thanks to the Mid-Contour and Hi-Countor controls, dedicated to the management of woofer cut-off frequency and tweeter cut-off frequency respectively, the cross-point can be varied. Through each of these two “Countor” controls, featuring a two-position selector, the system frequency response can be fine-tuned, adjusting it according to the different acoustics of the cars and the different speaker placements and, most of all, the listener can achieve thieir favourite sound.
The MLK 700.3 Legend car audio speakers system aims at offering a mid-high frequency range of excellence, to combine with a Legend woofer with a choice between ML 1650.3 and ML 1800.3 actively filtered in a multi-amplified configuration. MLK 700.3 Legend is composed of the ML 700.3 Legend Extended Midrange, the ML 280.3 Legend tweeter and the MLCX 2 TM.3 dedicated crossover that features the unique Mid-Countour control with its three-position selector, acting on the mid frequencies of the ML 700.3 Legend midrange by varying the cross-point with the tweeter to obtain the desired sound. The V-cone® exponential profile without the traditional dustcap gets close to the perfect one, generating exceptional dispersion: thanks to the synergistic action of these technological elements, ML700.3 Legend boasts outstanding high frequency extension making it possible to build purist two-way systems in combination with ML 1650.3 Legend or ML 1800.3 Legend. Thanks to this configuration, where there is only one cross-point, phase rotations are limited to the minimum, ensuring excellent soundstage and disarming timbre consistency. With the mid-high frequencies being handled by the ML700.3 Legend and the low ones by the ML1800.3 Legend, the whole audio range is reproduced with transducers built with the same materials and based on the same electro-acoustic structure; that doesn’t happen with woofer and tweeter, since due to its own nature the tweeter is different in materials and structure. The uniformity in materials and structures creates very high timbre consistency, so the speakers can “disappear” and leave room to emotions.
